Cairo Debate team competes at Warner Robins

The Cairo High School debate team competed last weekend in Warner Robbins against more than 30 other schools from around Georgia.  In the varsity debates, Justin Drew, and Luke Connell finished with a winning record of 3-2.  In junior varsity debate, the team of Tia Huntley and  Diana Lambert advanced to the quarterfinals before being eliminated. 

In Novice Debate, the teams of Cynthia Crawford, and Drew Tuggle won the tournament, coming in first overall.  Shantia Brown and Amber Johnson finished with a record of 3-2 and advanced to the quarterfinals.  The teams of Katie Hollingsworth, Jordan Haymaker and Heather Kelly, Kahja Washington and Yolanda Alonso all finished with winning records of 3-2. Shantia was named 4th place speaker out of 75 contestants.  Amber was 9th and Kahja placed 10th overall.
