CHS Debate team competes in Atlanta By: Michael Best   The Cairo High School Debate team competed last Saturday, September 8th at Westminster High School in Atlanta against 69 other teams and 140 participants.   In their first debate tournament ever, Kahla Washington and Heather Kelly finished with a record of 3 wins, and one loss.  Kahja was named 9th place overall speaker. The teams of Cynthia Crawford, Drew Tuggle, Yolando Alonso, Mallory Ouzts, and Katie Hollingsworth, Jordan Hamaker all finsihed with records of 2 and 2.  Drew was named 11th place overall speaker, Cynthia was named 20th overall speaker and Mallory was named 22nd overall speaker.   The Cairo High School Debate team is coach by CHS English teacher Hank Smith.
